February is Black History Month. I've always believed people should never be ashamed of their heritage and to always embrace whichever culture they're from. But I am curious about something.
Throughout the year we often hear that black people say we should not look at them as black but people. No argument there. Because by looking at them as black instead of as people we are distancing ourselves from each other. But then by it being BLACK History Month shows me that blacks are focusing on being black. What happened to "no one should call us black but call us 'people' instead?" You can't have it both ways folks. And read what actor Morgan Freeman has to say on this topic.
